The Advantage G300 and T300 series step the water-circulating platform up to a 300°F setpoint, still at 35 to 100 GPM depending on model. These exist specifically for processes where a standard 250°F unit doesn't have the headroom - the process needs to run consistently hotter, not just occasionally spike higher.
Selection between the 250°F and 300°F ranges comes down to the actual required setpoint with margin, not a preference for a bigger number - running a 250°F-rated unit at its ceiling continuously is harder on the unit than running a 300°F unit comfortably below its own limit.
If the process needs to run above 300°F, move to a hot-oil unit rather than pushing a water-based system past its design range.
300°F is the practical ceiling for reliable water circulation at normal system pressures - it's engineered headroom for demanding water-based duty, not a step toward oil service. If your process runs consistently at or above this range rather than occasionally touching it, that's the point where oil, not a hotter water unit, becomes the correct fluid path.
As with the Advantage 250°F series, size for margin below the rated ceiling rather than running the unit continuously at its limit - it's easier on seals and pump life over the equipment's working life.
| Factor | Up to 250°F (VE, G, Temptender) | Up to 300°F (G300, T300) |
|---|---|---|
| Fluid | Water | Water |
| Flow | 35-100 GPM | 35-100 GPM |
| Typical use | Standard hot-runner molds, laminating, die preheat | Same duty types run at a higher required setpoint |
| When to step up | - | Choose when a 250°F unit would run at or near its ceiling continuously |
Above 300°F, move to a hot-oil unit rather than pushing a water-based system past its design range. Call and talk it through with an engineer: 1-805-484-2992.
