MGD-5W

The MGD-5W is the water-cooled version of Advantage's 5.1-ton MG frame — a 5 HP digital scroll compressor rejecting heat to city or tower water instead of an air-cooled coil. The process pump moves 12 GPM at 52 PSI through a centrifugal head in stainless steel. Process connections are 1-1/4" NPT. The 25-gallon reservoir carries a standard automatic make-up valve. On city water the condenser needs roughly 8 GPM; on a cooling tower loop, plan on about 15 GPM — size the water budget before committing to this frame over the air-cooled equivalent, since a water-cooled unit only wins when that water is already free or reclaimed. The digital scroll modulates capacity continuously rather than cycling on and off, which is the right choice for a load that varies through the shift and would otherwise short-cycle a fixed-capacity compressor.
